Bradley Beal has honest reaction to shooting 1-of-14 against Heat

Bradley Beal just couldn’t find a rhythm Friday night. He had his worst shooting night of his career, going 1-of-14 from the field. He missed all 12 of his first half shots from the field. It was tied with OJ Mayo (2008) for the most field attempts in a half without a make in the last 25 seasons.

With their best scorer off his mark, the Washington Wizards never got going against the Miami Heat. The Wizards trailed 71-43 at halftime en route to a 122-95 loss.

Beal, who finished with a season-low seven points, had an honest reaction to his dreadful night.

“Honestly, it was a matter of time before i had one of these games,” Beal said, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports. “…I”m not going to get 50 every night, let’s be real.”

Beal jokingly blamed the rim and ball for his bad shooting night. His streak of 17 games with at least 25 points was snapped.

He just surpassed Michael Jordan for the most consecutive games to begin a season with 25 points or more on Wednesday against the same Heat with 32 points. Maybe an extra night on sunny Miami zapped Beal and the Wizards’ energy.
