It appears that the tell-all book from Robert Griffin III highlighting his time with the Washington franchise is no longer in the works.
According to Eric Bickell of 106.7 the Fan’s The Sports Junkies, the book’s co-author Gary Myers has moved on to another project. Griffin had “second thoughts” of writing the book.
Last November, Griffin released a promotional video about his upcoming book “Surviving Washington” slated for release in August 2022.
Griffin planned to “open your eyes” to the sexual harassment and misconduct that circulated within the organization. And will give a “deep dive” into the power struggle between owner Dan Snyder and former head coach Mike Shanahan.
However, as Bickell pointed out, Griffin deleted the promotional video tweet. Additionally, the pre-order link by publisher Simon & Schuster no longer works.
Bickell took a victory lap on Twitter. He notably predicted the book would never be published shortly after Griffin’s initial promotional video.
There has always been skepticism surrounding Griffin’s book. Even a pair of former Washington players, LaVar Arrington and Fred Smoot were very critical about Griffin and his intentions with the book.
Some former Washington employees who were subject of the team’s sexual misconduct investigation last year challenged Griffin. That led to Griffin proclaiming he would reveal his own sexual harassment experiences in Washington.
Apparently we will never know where Griffin was going with the book as it is no longer in the works.
