After struggling mightily in the first half to gain any traction, Kasim Hill and the Maryland Terrapins offense appeared to get the break they desperately needed. Trailing 28-7 the Maryland’s special teams returned a blocked punt to the end zone to cut the deficit 28-14. The defense then got another stop, giving the offense good field position with just under six minutes to play in the fourth to possible stage a comeback, avoiding an upset to the winless Temple Owls at home.

However, any chance got washed away when Hill hit Temple’s linebacker Shaun Bradley in the numbers and Bradley returned the interception 78 yards for a pick-six, sealing the fate of the game. For Hill is was an inopportune time to throw his first collegiate interception.

With the score 35-14, Maryland is well on it’s way to suffering its first loss of the season to a team that lost to Football Championship Subdvision Villanova and Buffalo of the MAC.

Hill completed just 7-of-17 passes for 56 yards. However, Maryland’s offense as a whole struggled being held to 195 yards compared to the 429 gained by Temple.
