Dwayne Haskins fined for violating Washington’s COVID-19 protocols

Washington Football Team quarterback Dwayne Haskins was fined $4,833 for violating the team’s COVID-19 protocols ahead of last week’s game at the New York Giants, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Haskins made a reservation for a family friend at the hotel Washington stayed at which is strictly prohibited by the team.

Haskins grew up in Highland Parks, New Jersey before moving to Prince George’s County Maryland during his ninth grade year. Highland Parks is roughly 32 miles south of the Giants’ home stadium, MetLife Stadium, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Haskins traveled with the team after battling an illness that forced him to miss practices Wednesday and Thursday leading into the game. While he returned to practice that Friday, it was unclear at the time if he would be able to travel with the team.

Ultimately, he did, but he was inactive for the game as the No. 3 quarterback on the depth chart behind starter Kyle Allen and backup Alex Smith.
