Giants safety Jabrill Peppers apologizes for injuring Kyle Allen

New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers says he apologized to Kyle Allen for the hit that injured the Washington quarterback. Allen suffered a dislocated ankle when he was hit by a leg-whip from Peppers.

Allen fell to the turf in a heap of pain immediately after the hit. He was carted off the field after being attended to by medical staff.

Fortunately, the injury appeared worse than it may actually be. In addition to the ankle dislocation, X-rays revealed Allen suffered a small fracture and he reportedly may not need surgery, pending an MRI Monday.

It’s debatable the intent of Peppers’ leg whip. Peppers apologizing shows a degree of remorse whether intentional of not.

Nonetheless, Allen was injured forcing Washington to reshuffle its quarterback depth chart. Alex Smith, who suffered a gruesome compound fracture two years ago, replaced Allen in the game.
