The wife of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was arrested and charged with domestic battery for an incident on July 3 at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
According to KLAS 8 in Las Vegas, Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins is accused of punching Haskins and knocking out one of his teeth during a disagreement.
The couple reportedly was married on March 19. They were in Las Vegas for a wedding with 14 of their friends. According to statements in the arrest report, the two were renewing their vows.
The dispute stemmed from plans for social outings. Kalabrya and her friends were going to a āMagic Mikeā show, and Dwayne and his friends were going to Draiās Beach Club & Nightclub. Instead of waiting for Kalbrya and the others, Dwayne and his friends went without them. When they returned, the fight got physical.
Haskins reportedly demanded his wife out of his room for punching and cutting his lip.
Gondrezick-Haskins was not in handcuffs during her interview with police because she hurt her hand in the confrontation.
Haskins was a first-round draft pick of the Washington Football Team in 2019. However, struggles on the field and off the field led to him being released before the 2020 season concluded.
Last season, Haskins was fined twice by the team for breaking COVID-19 protocols. The second fine was a result of him attending a party following a game in which he was seen not wearing a mask. He also was stripped of his captaincy.
After struggling in a Week 16 start and loss, Washington decided to part ways with the former Ohio State Buckeyes star. He signed a futures contract with the Steelers on Jan. 21.
