Commanders TE Logan Thomas out vs. Titans, rookie Cole Turner to make NFL debut

Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a calf injury. Thomas appeared on Washington’s injury report Friday after the veteran did not practice. The Commanders listed Thomas as questionable.

However, after testing out his calf during pre-game workouts Sunday, Thomas was made inactive, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rookie Cole Turner will make his NFL debut this week. Turner was inactive for Washington’s first four games while dealing with a hamstring injury. Turner worked himself up for Week 5. Commanders head coach Ron Rivera stated this week, Turner would be ready to play regardless of Thomas’ status.

The Commanders’ active tight ends will be John Bates, undrafted rookie Armani Rogers, and Turner.

Thomas started each of the Commanders’ previous four games despite coming off a torn ACL from last December. Thomas has 13 catches for 106 yards and one touchdown.

Bates and Rogers enter Week 5 with seven catches for 57 yards combined this season.
