Maryland names Dan Enos offensive coordinator

Maryland football has officially tabbed former University of Cincinnati running backs coach Dan Enos offensive coordinator. Enos will also serve as quarterbacks coach.

Maryland parted ways with offensive coordinator Scottie Montgomery last week after two seasons. Head coach Mike Locksley is looking to advance the development of QB Taulia Tagovailoa.

Enos and Locksley worked closely together at Alabama in 2018. Locksley was the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator while Enos was the quarterbacks coach. That season, Alabama reached the national championship game behind a high-powered offense led by Taulia’s brother Tua Tagovailoa. Tua threw for 3,966 yards and 43 touchdowns. Enos was largely credited with Tua’s Heisman-worthy season.

While Locksley moved on to be Maryland’s head coach, Enos became the offensive coordinator at the University of Miami in 2019. However, after a disappointing season, Miami parted ways with Enos.

He landed with the Cincinnati Bearcats on Luke Fickell’s staff. Among his extensive coaching resume, Enos was head coach at Central Michigan for five years.

Maryland also named Brian Braswell offensive line coach. Braswell has five seasons of NFL experience as an assistant offensive line and quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. He spent the 2020 season volunteer analyst at Maryland.

The Terrapins also promoted Brian Williams to co-defensive coordinator, joining Jon Hoke. Williams has made waves as late as a recruiting coordinator. His efforts landed five-star linebacker Terrence Lewis and several highly-touted defensive linemen as part of Maryland’s top-20 recruiting class this year.
