Thomas Bryant back running in torn ACL recovery

Thomas Bryant is six months removed from a partially torn ACL and the latest update on the Washington Wizards center’s recovery is very encouraging. A video shared by Wizards insider Quinton Mayo shows Bryant running on a treadmill.

Bryant suffered the injury in his left knee on Jan. 9 after he landed awkwardly during a game against the Miami Heat. It’s unfortunate, as he was on his way to having the best season of his four-year career.

Bryant’s season was cut short after 10 games. He averaged a career-high 14.3 points while added 6.1 rebounds. He shot a career-best 64.8% from the field. Bryant also led the NBA among centers making 42.9% of his threes.

No specific timetable has been given for his recovery. However, he will be entering a contract year next season. In 2019, Bryant earned a three-year, $25 million extension with the Wizards. Now, he will be looking to prove himself yet again when he gets back on the court.
